What is headache?
It is one of the most common ailment people suffer from. Headaches afflict almost all of us at some time or the other. Most headaches are due to temporary upsets, and are usually not related to any major changes in the brain. Headaches are often symptomatic of that something is wrong somewhere in the body. Among all kinds of headaches migraine headaches are among the most severe.
What are the causes of headache?
Headaches are generally caused due to allergy, emotional stress, eye strain, high blood pressure, a hangover, infection, low blood sugar, nutritional deficiency, tension, or the presence of any kind of toxins in the body. Often people are allergic to food and consuming that can trigger headaches. Prolonged eye exercise and lack of sleep are the other causes.

- Cinnamon helps to treat headaches that are caused by exposure to cold air. Prepare a fine paste of this spice . Apply it over the temples and forehead to obtain relief.
- The herb marjoram when taken as an infusion of the leaves helps to treat headache.
- Another beneficial herb is Rosemary, which helps to effectively combat headaches resulting from cold. Boil a handful of this herb in a litre of water and put in a vessel. Wrap your head in a towel and inhale the steam as long as you can bear it. This is sure to give you relief.
- Other helpful treatment of headaches include applying towels wrung out from very hot water to the back of the neck, having a cold compress in your throbbing forehead or having hot fomentations over the abdominal region just before sleeping.
