Burns are very common domestic accidents and they require an urgent treatment for faster and proper cure. As soon as you can apply an appropriate treatment, the severity of burns will decrease proportionately. For this reason an apt knowledge on home remedies for burn treatment, causes and symptoms is very necessary. The regular domestic activities like the kitchen works, putting on the fireplace, or flaming the candles – all hold severe chances for burn accidents.
There are various reasons and causes for burns. According to the types of causes, there are three different types of burns - Thermal burns, Chemical burns and Radiant burns. The first types of burns are caused by extreme heat or cold. The causes for the second type of burns are accidents by chemical solutions like acid. X-rays or artificial ultraviolet rays or sunburn cause the third types of burns.
According to the symptoms of burns and severity of the damages, there are also various types of burns:
(i) First degree burns: This can be cured in about 3-6 days.
Symptoms: The symptoms are mild burns, red skin with pain.
Home remedies for burn treatment - first degree:
(a) Flow cold running water on the burnt area. You can also compress ice on that place.
(b) To sooth down the pain and burning sensation use cold milk on the burnt area. Cucumber juice also can help a lot.
(c) For avoiding the infection turmeric paste is most beneficial. A cool application of turmeric paste can also keep your skin without any mark.
(d) Apply the liquid form of Vitamin E on the burnt area. You can break the capsule of a Vitamin E to get the liquid from inside.
(e) For the minor burns the aloevera cream and antibiotic ointment can treat the injury to a complete cure.
(ii) Second-degree burns: It takes 2 - 3 weeks for complete cure.
Symptoms: The symptoms are blisters and splotchy skin with swelling and acute pain.
Home remedies for burn treatment - second degree:
(a) Flow ice cool water on the burnt area for at least 15 minutes.
(b) For a quicker cure regularly apply a small piece of wet clean soft cloths for few minutes on the injured place.
(c) Regular use of honey can save you from infection while increasing the healing pace.
(d) To pace up the growth of new cells papaya paste is a useful option.
(iii) Third degree burns: It takes much longer time for cure.
Symptoms: The symptoms include severe damages to the skin. The skin texture becomes white or charred. As the skin nerves are destroyed in this case, the pain is not much sensed.
Home remedies for burn treatment - third degree:
(a) Sharply put on thick heavy blanket to extinguish the fire.
(b) Hospitalize the injured person sharply.
The supporting home remedies for burn treatment is a proper diet. Eat foods with high protein and calorie, Vitamin B complex, Vitamin C, Arginine, Glutamine, Zinc, Copper and Selenium.
