Folliculitis is the name of skin disorder, which may infect any part of the human body. It may lead to formation of permanent scars on the skin and may also cause hair loss. In this condition, the hair follicles are swelled and infection is caused to hair roots. The general symptoms of this skin infection include redness of skin around hair follicles and appearance of white heads over infected areas.

The main cause of this skin infection is attack of microbes like bacteria.   • Fresh Air First of all, you must allow our skin to get exposed to fresh air. For this, you must avoid tight clothes and prefer loose cotton clothes to let the skin breathe.
  • Chlorine Chlorine is considered to be good for killing germs. Thus, it is advised to add chlorine to your bathing water and also, wash your face with chlorine after shaving to keep the skin germs free.
  • Compressors Application of warm and moist compressor around infected area is also recommended to relieve skin from folliculitis. Vinegar based compressors are mostly advised by experts to be used around contaminated skin.
  • Antibiotic products You must make it a habit to use antibiotic lotions and face creams to prevent various forms of skin infections, including folliculitis. Also, it is recommended to use antiseptic soap for your body skin.
  • Prevent friction The friction produced by tight clothes and shaving instruments may worsen the situation and lead to rashes. Thus, it is important to restrict friction in any form around the skin.
  • Avoid oily products It is not at all admirable to use oily creams and other products around infected areas, as these may feed the microbes to grow.
  • Garlic As a dietary recommendation, it is advised to consume garlic in your diet, as it has the capability to fight various types of skin infections.
  • Wash and maintain cleanliness It is of great importance to keep your skin clean and free from germs. For this, you must wash the skin regularly and scrub it with moist cloth gently. This will restrict the clogging of skin pores, so that they may inhale sufficient amount of fresh air.

It is important to consider certain points, while shaving away the hair from any part of your body. First of all, make it a point not to share towels, shaving instruments etc. with others.
